Casey and Burton are amazing! And their story is even more amazing. The two have been together since middle school, and are a part of the same Travelers Rest community that my business partner and brother Austyn and I know so well. We felt this was an extra special wedding because we were entertaining people we personally knew, and we wanted everyone to have a great time!
Cocktail Hour:
We provided a lapel microphone for the ceremony portion of their wedding, and we weren't needed for the ceremony music which was held in the field of The Hollow at Paris Mountain overlooking the beautiful mountains. Once the ceremony ended the cocktail hour was filled with amazing jazz and funk music like Lettuce, The Marcus King Band, James Brown and so many other great songs from that era.
Please Welcome...:
As cocktail hour came to an end, it was time to introduce the happy couple into the covered area provided by The Hollow at Paris Mountain. (On a side note, this place is perfect, and was hand built by the owners of the property). Austyn was in control of the music, I was the MC for the evening, and we were ready! Austyn starts playing Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars, and everybody in the wedding party had their own quick, but very creative dance when entering the reception area. The moment of truth comes and without any issues, Mr & Mrs Burton Harbin are introduced and met with a standing ovation. Casey and Burton then walk onto the dance floor to start their first dance.
A little surprise!
Burton and his mother were about halfway through their mother/son dance when the music abruptly stops....and Pharrell's Happy starts to play! The groom then motions the entire wedding party to join him and his mother on the dance floor! (This was all planned by the bride and groom). Of course, that wasn't the only surprise someone had planned. Once Russ Harbin (Best Man) and Heather Fair (Maid of Honor) finished their toasts, Allison Harbin (Bridesmaid) and her sister had a song prepared for the bride and groom. The duet sang to Casey and Burton to the tune of Walk This Way.
Congrats Casey and Burton!
The dance floor opened and everyone danced the night away. From James Brown to Lil Jon, everyone seemed to be ready to party and dance to everything we played. Mira Photographs got some amazing photos, and we hope to share those with you with an update to this blog soon! The weather in Greenville was perfect for an outdoor wedding, and we are happy to have been a part of Casey and Burton's amazing day! Congrats!
